Haha hey all today was rather interesting, but before I say anything I would like to say today is ending in an hour, by the time I finish this post.
BUT ANYWAY, went to Vivo today, with ex-classmate from my primary school Nanhua. Watched this very interesting movie about Shinigami ( death gods). Now, from death gods you might think its some Bleach-like show where everybody kills each other, but no. It was a very interesting movie which had an script, and Takeshi Kanehiro was the lead. (=
So now, essentially the plot was that shinigami exists in the world around us. Their job is essentially to pop into our lives one week before our death and decide whether we should die or not. THey get transported by walking along this 2 platforms, which will lead them to a door, if they have another job assigned. So Takeshi ( his name in the movie is Chiba, I think) yes, CHiba, goes around into 3 people's lives: this girl who had everyone around her die, and lived a very sad life, but finally made it big when her supposed stalker was a record producer who wanted to hire her for his label. Chiba decided she shoudn't die, because she hadn't fulfilled her lives purpose, which was to sing. Oh and her name was Fujiki Kazue.
AND OH I failed to mention that CHiba " loves music". He says it so much, its hilarious. They way he sways his head from side to side as he listens to ALL kinds of songs ( from slow piano ballads to "Silent Night" to some poppy stuff"), he just takes it in. He even goes so far to call music "the greatest invention of humanity".
But anyway, the second person was a 40 year old yakuza named ..... Fujita. He had a little brother named Akatsu ( or at least treated him like one, the script was weak here) who works for this unnamed boss. His previous boss ( i think; as i said, weak script) got killed by umm Chiriki or something like that, and he wants to take revenge. When his current boss and Chiriki were to be partners, they laid a setup for him that meant that he would die. The strangest thing was that, he knew. SO then Akutsu didn't really like his older brother dying, and did things to try to prolong his life, like lying about scouting Chiriki's location, and Chiba played along.
(Oh I should probably mention here that Chiba is not the only Shinigami, there are others. You can roughly tell who they are by their white gloves, for whatever they touch that has life will kind of die, except for humans [i THINK, not completely explained] who faint. White gloves thing is used to great comedic effect.)
So when Akutsu and CHiba got captured, no one wad revealing anything about Fujita, so Chiriki got pissed and started whacking Akutsu ( why he didnt whack Chiba im not too sure, because Chiba was dressed like some gangster dude too). But anyway Chiba sees a fellow Shinigami with CHiriki, and through some amusing hand signals, He sent the message to Chiba that CHiriki was going to die. SO then Chiba just revealed Fujitas number, knowing he woudn't die. So at the end, all was well, nothing too bad happened.
Best scene of the movie: when all the gangsters were shot by Fujita, 4 more guys came out, dressed like yakuza, so Chiba looked like he was getting into a mess. But then they all took their hands out of their pockets, and guess what! White gloves! Then they look down.*cue dead bodies* HAHA that was amusing.
But then, Chiba decided the guy should die, simply because he fulfilled his purpose. He knew he was going into a trap, he knew he was going to die, but he went in anyway, and saved his brother. Because of that, he achieved his purpose, and didnt have to live anymore. ( warped logic, but yeah. ><)
Then third person! a 70 year old woman who works in a salon along the beach. the year is 2026, and theres this android girl. ><><) that the old woman is Kazue Fujiki! and she managed to meet CHiba again. Theres a subplot about her grandson, but I shan't explain.
overall, decent film, interesting ideas, but script lacked substance. But the thoughts I had were really strange.
Example:
If shinigamis determine when someone dies, does that mean they determine cause of death?
When chiba's pet dog assistant thing talks, sounds like a computer program. Is this shingami world governed by real rules and regulations?
Why do shinigamis wear suits?><
Why do they transcend time?
Do they have leave? XD
Well yeah something like that. But in essence, and interesting movie.
But I;m broke!
After that went to eat secret recipe. Contrary to DELIAS BELIEF, i thought it was good. ( HAHA WHO ASK YOU NOT EAT LASAGNE). so yes, it was good. (=
But coudnt really find the cd shop i was looking for, and screwed around at the playground.
Went home and slept for one hour.
Oh well going out again tomorrow.(=
